General
information

The “HOME`ЯК” Youth Space is located in the city center, within the Children’s and Youth Library branch.

The space has been open continuously since October 8, 2021.

Visitors are welcome primarily from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM; on Saturdays, the space is open from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

The space occupies the first floor (~200 square meters) of the two-story library building. The space features 2 hallways and 8 rooms: a large hall for events, a coworking room, a workroom, the director’s office, a storage room, a kitchen, a reception area, an unfinished room, restrooms (including accessible facilities), and the shelter itself. The space is equipped with video recording equipment, laptops, tablets, speakers, projectors, table tennis equipment, board games, a photo and video area, and Wi-Fi access. During the warmer months, we also use the library’s backyard to host events and day camps.

Our view

The community has developed a positive attitude (mindset) toward young people. Young people are not a problem; they are the driving force behind change in the community. The Youth Center is a place where I would bring my child, because this is where I became the person I am today!

Our events include:

The “Meaningful Leisure” Program

Game and intellectual clubs (board games, Mafia, etc.), house parties, get-togethers (tea parties), and themed events.

“Mental Health” Program

Group and individual psychological sessions.

“Non-Formal Education” Program

Workshops on various topics.

“Volunteering” Program

Eco-outings (community cleanups), Days of Good Deeds (volunteering, weaving nets, making trench candles and energy bars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine), participation in the city’s charity fairs.

We also have the necessary equipment and controllers for flying drones on a simulator (the “FPV Aviators” club).

When we’re not hosting events, we rent out our space for events, gymnastics classes, programming and English language classes, birthday celebrations for various organizations, and more.

Our goal

Creating a comfortable, safe, and welcoming space for young people where they can socialize, grow, and be themselves, while also fostering a positive outlook on life and helping them achieve their dreams!

Principles of work

Inclusivity, tolerance, volunteerism, openness, personal development, friendliness, activity, cooperation.
