General
information

The youth centre is located in the heart of Zhuravno, in the town hall on the 1st floor. Currently, our premises are temporarily out of operation, and for a year now we have been actively seeking and applying for grant opportunities to renovate and reopen the youth centre. Despite this, we continue to organise events for young people in various community venues. The main areas of our work are non-formal education, volunteering, active leisure and social cohesion. We invite you to interesting workshops, trainings, film screenings and meetings in new locations.

Our main target audience is rural youth, who often face limited opportunities for development and self-realisation. We strive to create a space where young people from our community can access non-formal education, volunteering and active leisure, regardless of where they live. Our programmes are focused on helping young people from rural areas to realise their potential, gain new knowledge, skills and contacts, and become part of an active and cohesive community.

Board games, film screenings, BURCHYKS, human rights, leadership, volunteering and master classes (media, design), the Volunteer School from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, youth camps - all of these continue to be available to young people despite the temporary inconvenience of the premises.

Our view

The Zhuravno Youth Centre has a clear vision of its development and impact on the youth of the community, even in this difficult time of war. We strive to become a central hub of youth activity, where every young resident can find opportunities for personal growth, leadership development and social responsibility, despite all the challenges our society faces today.

Our goal is to create an inclusive, safe and creative environment where young people can feel supported and inspired to implement their ideas. We see the centre as a space that promotes not only the development of professional skills, but also the strengthening of social ties and psychological support, which is so important in times of war.

Even during the war, we continue to organise events, volunteer initiatives and workshops that help young people overcome difficulties and feel the power of unity. In the future, we aim to engage international organisations, experts and activists so that young people can join global initiatives and share experiences with other youth communities, both in Ukraine and abroad.

It is a place where everyone can find their own way, feel supported and believe in the future, regardless of current circumstances. The Youth Centre helps young people not only develop their skills but also become part of the country's reconstruction through active citizenship.

Our goal

The purpose of the youth centre is to create conditions for the comprehensive development of young people and their involvement in active social life. The main objectives are:

Development of personal and professional skills: the youth centre provides an opportunity for non-formal education, where young people can gain knowledge and skills that will help them in their self-realisation and future career.

Support for volunteering and social activity: the centre promotes the development of volunteerism by encouraging young people to participate in community initiatives and help others.

Social cohesion: bringing together young people from different social groups, helping them to form strong interpersonal relationships and creating a community where everyone feels supported and understood.

Psychological support and socialisation: in difficult times, such as war, the centre provides opportunities for psychological assistance and support, helping young people to adapt to new conditions and cope with stressful situations.

Active leisure: organising events, trainings, workshops, film screenings and other activities to promote healthy and interesting leisure for young people, where everyone can express themselves and find new interests.

Principles of work

1.Inclusivity and equality: the centre is open to all young people, regardless of their social status, gender, religion, nationality or place of residence. We strive to provide equal opportunities for everyone's development.

2.Informality of education: an important principle is the use of non-formal learning methods that allow young people to acquire new knowledge and skills in a relaxed, creative and practical way.

3.Active participation of young people: young people are active participants, not just observers. We provide opportunities for them to initiate, propose and implement their own projects, encouraging responsibility and leadership.

4. Volunteering and solidarity: the centre encourages participation in volunteer initiatives, fostering a sense of community responsibility and social solidarity among young people. Helping others and mutual support are key elements of our work.

5.Social cohesion and mutual respect: creating a space where young people learn to work together, respect different opinions and support each other contributes to a stronger civil society.

6.Flexibility and adaptability: the centre is constantly responding to the needs of young people and the community, adapting programmes and activities to meet current challenges, such as war or socio-economic difficulties.

7.Creativity and innovation: stimulating creativity and innovative thinking in all areas of activity, helping young people to find new approaches to solving problems and unlocking their potential.

8.Partnership and cooperation: an important principle is cooperation with other organisations, institutions and community initiatives to expand the opportunities and strengthen the impact of the centre's work.
