Youth Center "Smart" of the Slobozhansk community in the Dnipropetrovsk region

📍 Employees of the Youth Center "Smart" of the Slobozhansk community in the Dnipropetrovsk region during the peaceful life have organized the work of the youth center in the community district. Now, when the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian occupation forces has been going on for 100 days, such an expanded network of the center has helped to organize volunteer and humanitarian work 💪 in the community since the first days of the war.

💬  In the branches of Youth Center "Smart" in Partizansky, Oleksandrivka and Balivka weave camouflage nets and "kikimora" ghillie suits. We have already managed to produce more than 160 nets of various sizes, which are immediately transferred to the frontlines through the local volunteer community. In particular, local craftswomen have arranged tailoring of unloading vests and already handed over to the military more than 20 pieces. "Young people are actively involved in volunteering in Slobozhansk and the other youth center branches🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️: they help to sort out humanitarian aid, to buy food and medicine for both displaced persons and the military", says Maryna Prakhova, a specialist at the Smart Youth Center.

"Smart" specialists also organize various events for young people in the community and young people from a number of IDPs. Everyone is happy to join the weaving of camouflage nets. And for the children of migrants, there are master classes in drawing, decoupage, beadwork, etc.

"We continue to hold events at the youth center. Their focus is on volunteering and charity, but in May we still managed to hold:

🔸 the charitable home concert - kvartyrnyk -, where we raised funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, performing Ukrainian songs and poems;

🔹 training in conflict studies;

🔸 took part in the all-Ukrainian youth volunteer movement  "Build Ukraine Together" communal work - toloka - in Slobozhanske;

🔹 held board game evenings for young people;

🔸 have planned a screening of the film "Rhino" in early June, ", adds Marina.

Youth Center "Smart" is a good example of youth work in the community, when all possible spaces of starosta districts (district administrations)  starosta districts are involved in the activities🔥. It is about working together to accelerate Ukraine's victory. 🇺🇦
