Youth Center "START" of Pavlo Tychyna Uman Pedagogical University is located at 26 Sadova Street, near the public transport stop "Pedagogical University (new building)", routes No. 5, 6, 11. Nearby the university are the Chernyakhovskyi Park and the National Dendrological Park "Sofiyivka". Currently, the center operates in a hybrid format (online and offline), according to prior arrangement. Visitor access is from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (and possibly until 7:00 PM depending on planned events). The center is located in room 121, but the university’s facilities (assembly hall, laboratories, classrooms, gymnasium, sports field, reading rooms, cafeteria, etc.) are used for events. The center is equipped with technical equipment, a photo zone, Wi-Fi access, a mini-library, board games, and more. The center's members can include higher education students, university academic staff, community activists, volunteers, and proactive youth from the city who wish to participate.
The youth center hosts film lectures, rehearsals, tea gatherings, book exchanges, marathons, seminars, schools, trainings, programs for comprehensive and professional development, games, scientific activities, and more. The youth center is a place for the comprehensive development and self-realization of young people.
One of the priority tasks of the Center is to create conditions for creative personality development, intellectual self-improvement of young people; affirmation of patriotism, spirituality, morality and formation of universal human values among young people; promotion and formation of a healthy lifestyle; creation of a favorable environment for youth employment; interaction with youth public organizations; ensuring the development of international youth cooperation.
The main goal of the center's activity is the comprehensive development and self-realization of youth in various spheres of social life, the disclosure of their potential, the protection of interests and rights; promotion of social formation and development, professional orientation and organization of meaningful leisure time, support of talented youth.

Directions of the Center's Activities:
Educational and Scientific:
- Development of self-governance through informal education
- Hosting forums, scientific conferences, seminars, training workshops, conventions, business meetings, and discussion clubs on various aspects of youth movement development
- Training and retraining of youth workers through lectures, trainings, and master classes
- Promoting youth entrepreneurship
- Implementing new mechanisms of youth policy from the Council of Europe through international partnerships, internships, and cultural-educational exchanges
Recreational:
- Organizing and conducting cultural events (concerts, performances, presentations, festivals, benefit events, literary-musical festivals, theater-concert evenings, creative meetings, art reports, intellectual game competitions, exhibitions, contests, tournaments, sports-entertainment, wellness events, leisure evenings, dance evenings, balls, discos, etc.)
- Supporting the sports development of youth
- Promoting the revival of spirituality, strengthening moral principles, and organizing meaningful leisure activities for youth
Informational and Consultative:
- Providing legal, informational, methodological, and consultative assistance to youth
- Encouraging youth participation in international youth scientific, artistic, sports, and informational-educational events
- Creating a powerful youth media resource - an interactive press center with media co-working
- Actively collaborating with city public and volunteer organizations and developing the volunteer movement among youth
Project-Based:
- Supporting student self-governance projects, youth entrepreneurial initiatives, and ensuring youth employment in their free time
- Promoting the development of youth initiatives in the labor sector, retraining, and professional development of youth
- Facilitating active interaction between local authorities and youth by involving them in strategy development, program design, and project planning
- Organizing and conducting contests, projects, and programs of youth organizations aimed at solving youth issues
Career Guidance:
- Assisting young people in choosing their future profession through career guidance training, master classes, company tours, and introductions to representatives of various professions
Mentorship:
- Supporting and accompanying interesting youth projects, providing help with management, fundraising, budget creation, communication, volunteer recruitment, and other areas.
