The Sumy City Youth Leisure Center is located in the central part of Sumy in one of the residential buildings on Levanevskoho Street. The Center is open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The premises of the Center are also used by local clubs, organizations, and initiative groups for meetings, rehearsals, and classes not only on weekdays but also on weekends. The area of the Center is 90 sq. m. It is used as an educational, cultural, and resource space for the youth of Sumy of different ages.
Also, the Romantyka YC, with a total area of 2,000 sq. m. is on the balance sheet of the Youth Leisure Center. As of August 2020, the premises are still under reconstruction. The main purpose the Romantyka YC activities is to provide free space for the implementation of initiatives of the Sumy youth.
The following clubs and organizations conduct their activities in the premises of our Center: Plast, Bulat, Acro Yoga, workout, Anonymous authors, Ripple People group, GFS fire art studio, creative laboratory, SpeakingClub.
The staff of the Center conducts educational trainings, tournaments on board and computer games, masterclasses, events aimed at restoring and supporting national traditions, joint events with local NGOs, public utility services, and government agencies, the National Police.
These spaces are alcohol- and tobacco-free. Our Center actively promotes an active and healthy lifestyle. And one of the areas of our work is hiking in the Carpathians and kayaking on local rivers.
The Youth Leisure Center is a resource center, space for recreation, cultural development, and meaningful leisure of the Sumy youth
The center operates with the aim to:
- promote the creation of socio-economic, political, organizational, legal conditions and guarantees for self-determination in life, intellectual, moral, physical development of the youth of Sumy, the realization of its creative potential for their benefit and the benefit of the territorial community of Sumy;
- ensure the implementation of state youth policy, the needs of youth, youth and children's public organizations of the city of Sumy in information, methodological and organizational support, the organization of meaningful leisure, educational and cultural events;
- form personal traits of a citizen of Ukraine, a sense of national dignity, and patriotism in young people.
